In this session we will explore the contrast between social investment and charitable contributions. Many of the issues facing our society today require a deeper level of investment, both human and financial capital which can lead to an increased likelihood of true, systemic change. We will focus in on the idea of social investment being a way to commit longer-term toward solving a critical social issue. Whether your programs are focused on grantmaking, employee engagement, other forms of social good, or all the above, taking an intentional longer-term strategic approach can mean the difference between contributing to a worthy cause short-term and having truly meaningful long-term impact. We will examine the various facets of philanthropy and engagement programs and explore some of the ways a social investment approach could be applied.
