Companies operating globally need to support their employees and communities around the world as they face the hardships from the impacts of COVID-19. The support required may look different as each country faces different issues. The world health organization estimates that 3.3 billion people in the global workforce are at risk of losing their livelihoods and that poses an existential threat to millions of enterprises. In the COVID-19 crisis food security, public health and employment and labour issues, in particular workers’ health and safety converge. Different forms of support are key.

Many companies recognize the opportunity to build programs to support crisis response efforts and develop long-term sustainable goals to address the health, social and economic impacts of the pandemic.
